Depending on the type of traveler you are and what you like to do, Montreal, and the close by National Park have a lot to offer.

Credit cards (Visa Mastercard) are accepted in most of the places. Some places will require a minimal amount for using credit cards (usually 5 $). Few places like some bars will only accept Cash.

Some places will accept American Dollar but the exchange rate is usually not interesting.

Also note that few places will not accept Cash.
