Montréal is a great city to visit. It’s a city that I would qualify as half european and half north american. It’s very safe and there’s quite a lot to do and a lot to see. Depending on the type of traveler you are and what you like to do, Montreal, and the close by National Park have a lot to offer.

So Whisling is not well viewed in almost any occasion unless you are calling for a dog :).
Ok so this topic is very controversial but thats how it usually work. The 15% tips is kind of almost mandatory ! Restaurants and bars almost expect you to give a 15% tips so don’t even expect a smile or a thank you for it. I know it can quite frustrating but I guess that you should factor it in when you look at the prices in the menu (on top of the 15% taxes that are not included). So when you see 20$ for a plate of pasta, know that it will cost you 26$.
That being said, tips are NOT mandatory and you can decide not to give any. You will be attacked by weirds looks but its your money after all and you decide 🙂
Greetings always depend on the person but those are the general guidelines. 2 men will never kiss on the cheek and will shake hand or fist bump in the post Covid era. A man and a woman will either shake hands or kiss on the cheek (usually 2). A woman and a woman will either shake hands or kiss on the cheek (usually 2). Montrealers are usually not big huggers !
